The main goal of the Florida Computer Science Standards for grades K-2 is to educate young students with fundamental principles in the field of computer science. At this stage, there is a particular standard that emphasizes comprehension of algorithms and fundamental programming principles. Students are required to acquire the skills to both follow to and create structured instructions (algorithms) in order to resolve issues. For example, pupils could be instructed to create a series of instructions to sketch a geometric figure, solve a brainteaser, or navigate through a basic video game. The primary goal is on fostering early problem-solving abilities and logical reasoning, which are essential elements for early learners. Personally, I do not have an extensive background in computer science. For me, professional development opportunities would most likely help in this area as an educator.

The CPALMS Educator Toolkit is an invaluable tool for Florida teachers, providing an extensive range of tools to enhance classroom learning. To be able to access the Educator Toolkit, educators can simply go to the CPALMS main page and select the option "I am a Florida Teacher." Teachers can use the toolkit to examine grade-specific toolkits that are categorized according to academic areas. These resources include lesson plans, text resources, and original student tutorials, all of which adhere to set standards. Integrating CPALMS resources into teaching can improve the process of designing lessons, involve students through interactive tutorials, and offer supplementary materials to strengthen learning. Through the utilization of the CPALMS Educator Toolkit, educators have the ability to establish a teaching environment that is both dynamic and effective, customized to meet the unique requirements of their students.

In this age of technology, teachers need to be able to search the Internet easily because it has a big effect on how effortlessly they can plan lessons, find resources, and keep up with the latest educational trends. Being able to find your way around the huge world of the Internet as a teacher gives you quick access to a lot of useful information, different kinds of teaching tools, and other resources that can make your lessons better. Ensuring that the information given to students is correct requires them to be able to tell the difference between trusted sources and false information. The skills I'm most likely to use in my teaching involve figuring out how reliable sources are and how to make search terms more specific to get better results. Also, one important skill that wasn't talked about in detail this week is how to use advanced search operators and filters to quickly find more specific and focused information and narrow down the results. Learning these skills will help teachers use the internet more effectively for teaching, and it will also help students learn more and be more interested in what they are doing.
